Our Philosophy

At Little Stones Early Learning Centre we offer a hospitable approach to welcoming families into the centre as we believe they are their child’s first and primary educators. We welcome all families into the centre and encourage them to stay as long as they wish and treat each person with a welcoming attitude. In doing so we wish to build a true reciprocal partnership in the care and education of their child.

Community

At Little Stones Early Learning we believe our service is obligated to continually inform families and the broader community on the value of positive early learning. We will do this through communication and educational programs aimed at families to build their skills and knowledge of early childhood development. We hope to help build a better understanding about the little growing minds in our the local community .

Child

We believe children are central to their own learning and take the lead in which way they wish to learn and extend on learning things. We believe children are connected to the world around them and they approach their world as curious learners.

Teachers

Little Stones Early Learning Teachers are there to be partners in our children’s learning.  We are here to listen, observe, nurture, guide and encourage the children where needed.  As teachers we are there to extend and have activities available to children to help them explore their environments to gain a better knowledge of themselves and the world around them.

Environment

The environment acts as a 3rd teacher to the children along side their parents and educators. The environment both indoors and outdoors will be set up in a way that is stimulating, exciting, safe and there to encourage children to use their creative thinking. Play spaces will be available to children in small, large and individual spaces.

Nutrition

As children are active for most of their day, we believe fuelling their bodies with a nice healthy balanced diet is important. At Little Stones we will provide healthy meals to the children including, breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. As well as milk and water through out the day.
